My cashmere shawl is finished and in almost constant use...so very, very soft and light and the weather here has stayed miserable just so I can keep wearing it just a bit longer! (Isn't it thoughtful?) I also finished my first hitchhiker which has been acting as a perfect work project...it has to be easy to pick up and put down and there can't be any chance of forgetting where you are...this fitted the bill and is lovely too, I think there may be more of these made as gifts over the coming months, school term time only!
Both of these projects ended up being finished as part of Leigh's fantastic KAL, although neither were planned that way. I had planned a Semele but the yarn didn't end up doing what it should and then various family emergencies happened and life went a bit crazy there for a while and lets just say slow and steady garter stitch was the answer to keep me going...and sane too!
The other photo's above are of the very beautiful and generous giveaway I ended up winning from Leigh, along with a pattern for the shallows cowl, which I think will look stunning in that shade of blue. Leigh's KAL was a true pleasure from beginning to end and showed me yet again what a wonderful place the internet can be. I hesitated to join in,at first, not sure I was up to committing to anything yet and not wanting to let anyone down if it all went wrong. But I decided to have a go and I am so glad I did...I "met" the most amazing and generous group of women, who all offered honest words and friendship, I was inspired by the amazing projects that were made and learned so much as we all "chatted" together. Winning the yarn and pattern was just the icing on the cake and when I have the cowl finished I am looking forward to the memories it will evoke every time I wear it...
I have some more to show and tell and plan to be back here soon but just so you know planning and I are not doing so well at the moment so we will have to wait and see what happens...
