New Year's Eve this year involved an exciting new event, that we hope might become a tradition. Inspired by Festivals, Family and Food we had a go at casting our fortune with lead.
We started by carefully melting some lead in the fire.
Then when it was liquid we took it in turns to pour a little amount into some cold water. The resulting shapes were gently removed from the pan and displayed for us to admire and discussions took place on what they might mean.
Jack's seems to have a dragon or maybe wolf on top of an outcrop....he thinks he may become a werewolf this year!
I think Sam's looks like a man driving a car....
Various, mostly gruesome, ideas were thought up for Daddy's...I think it looks like a big fish, maybe he will finally get to do some sea fishing this year!
....and mine looks like a flower?
I love how different the shapes are and it was a special way to see out the old year together....fire, excitement and a bit of fortune telling, what more could you ask for? I'd love to hear any other suggestions you can come up with for what they might mean....
