Today I want to show you a funny mixture of nice things that have been made/sent or seen around here lately. Looking back through my photos these are a few of the things that have fallen through the net and I really want to acknowledge the happiness they have brought me before they get overwhelmed by all the excitement of Christmas.
The first beautiful thing I have to show you is this wonderful crochet covered stone that I was sent by a regular visitor to this blog. She is very modest and doesn't have a blog of her own but I really feel her talent and generosity need to be shown off! She put so much thought into the gift and the stone was even collected on a beach I love. Along with the stone was the perfect little blue crochet brooch which now has pride of place on my favourite winter coat. I was so touched by her kindness and want to say another big thank you - you know who you are!
The crochet stone has been placed together with the first one I made and a new addition which I completed recently. My second stone is only half covered to show off the stunning natural circle it has on one end. I think you'll agree they look beautiful grouped together!
Next I want to show you the lovely necklace I bought from Melissa at Tiny Happy. I had seen her posts about the little embroideries she was doing to fit into a collection of vintage copper lockets but each time I visited her shop I was always too late and they had already sold. I finally fell lucky with this post and the chamomile locket is now in my collection. She suggested you could add a photo or memento in the other side of the locket and I was inspired to add the quote from Max Ehrmann that seems so apt to me at the moment....along with the calming chamomile I think I have discovered the perfect way to remind myself of the importance of a bit of silence in my life at this busy time.
Finally, I would like to leave you with some of the beautiful views I spotted while walking Snap this week along with a reminder to check out the tutorials on my side-bar if you are looking for some ideas for things to make by hand over the next few weeks. My plans are already made for wreath making next week, the decorations are going up and gift bags and pillowcase bags are on the list for wrapping gifts again this year. Let me know if you do have a go - I would love to see the results!
