Our week of complete laziness is coming towards the end and it has been everything we needed it to be. A break from all routines, no appointments or timescales to keep to, sleeping, cuddling and recovering, watching movies, reading favourite books and lots and lots of saying 'yes'. With Daddy away with work all week, we have managed to slip into a delicious alternative time-zone where we have achieved more than expected, whilst feeling the days lasted forever. Next week we have plans to do a bit more but the thing we will work hardest at, is staying in the moment and getting the most out of everything we do, whether that is eating jelly (jello) for breakfast (yes really!) or building cupboards to our own design (Sam's somewhat ambitious idea). I have some photo's to share of some of the fun from this week but today I want to show you, as promised, the packages that were swapped in July.
I received this wonderful nest of packages, all soft and inviting, wrapped in tissue and ribbon.
Two beautifully tactile containers, hand knitted and then felted, in my favourite colours and stripes.
An extra treat was a package of pretty heart buttons - a project has already been started with these, I'll show you the results next week....
And a perfect 'Snail Mail' card was included on top, so much effort had obviously been put into my package and I loved every bit of it.
In return, I had sent....
A 'Very Special' envelope, which I hope will continue to be useful once it stopped being the home to...
A new and unique 'Snail Mail' paper-cut, inspired by our swap.
I enjoyed cutting the little snail and the birds carrying the mail, here is a scan that shows the detail more clearly (although the colour is closer in the photos above).
I am enjoying this process so much, both the making and receiving. Thank you so much my swap partners for making all this such a joy!
Don't forget there is still time to enter for an opportunity to win a paper-cut of your own - just leave a comment here!
