Thank you everyone for the kind comments you left while we were away, I am glad you like my funny apron/pillowcase bag as much as me! It has been everywhere with me this week and has proved the perfect size for lugging crochet, books and all the other necessities where ever I have gone (look out in a later post for photos of it on the beach).
I thought I would show you some of what we got up to holidaying at home this week, starting with our 'camp'. We positioned the tent, nestled under the trees and tucked away from view, once you were inside it was possible to believe you were miles and miles away from home.
I don't believe in minimalistic camping and my bed was a cosy jumble of blankets and quilts (my spring picnic quilt and pillow were both used and appreciated all week).
Often by Snap who seemed to think the whole event had been planned with just her in mind. Afternoon tea was enjoyed with a linen table cloth and jug of lilacs, while sunlight poured through the umbrella.
And evenings were spent enjoying starlight, candlelight and a roaring camp fire.
We cooked on the bar-b-que and toasted marsh-mallows on the fire, life was lived to the full and apart from the toilet and shower (much nicer than most campsites!) we barely entered the house. TV was non-existent and technology took a back seat (I do have to confess to a bit of late night Plants vs Zombies v. on Jack's ipod!) - reading and crochet took over (I have some finished projects to show you later this week).
With this blissful campsite to return to, we took some relaxed trips to the beach in Anglesey and I will be back soon to show you what we got up to there. Who needs a holiday when you can have this much of an adventure in your back garden?
