Not too many words, just lots of pictures of my latest skein off the spinning wheel. It's the indigo dyed merino/tencel blend, carded with raw silk and bamboo fibres and ply-ed with a mixture of acid dyed pure merino fleece.
I love the way the colours change throughout the skein and can't wait to see what it looks like knitted up. I am tempted to make a tea cosy for my new tea pot and maybe a french press (cafetiere) cosy if I have enough left over. Though I think they better wait in line before a few more pressing projects first.
I did promise to keep you up to date on my crochet blanket project as I went along. At the moment I have four coloured stripes and I am just about to get to my fifth. I am enjoying this long term WIP and am finding it hard not to get carried away and try to finish it as quickly as possible. The whole intension was that it could stay unfinished for ages, easy to pick up and put down as the urge struck me or I had five minutes to spare.
At the moment it is easy to roll up into a neat bundle and sling into my handbag to take with me wherever I go. As it gets bigger I think it might need a container of its own and I am tempted to make this bag using the pattern by Lucy at Attic 24. Sort of defeats the object to start a new project to carry the one I am doing now though - this crafting lark is so complicated!
Having reached the point where it would make a nice scarf, with no apparent dimming of enthusiasm, I am carrying on with the intension of creating a full bed sized blanket ...I'll be back with many more updates before then though I am sure.
