I am painfully aware that it has been some time since I talked yarny stuff here. One reason for that is that finished objects are rather thin on the ground at the moment, well in fact any progress at all is virtually impossible to find. The mixture of extra hours at work, essay writing (and reference book reading) in every free moment, dreaded housework (bah humbug) and a desire to carry on with a little bit of normal life around here, has resulted in a creative full stop. It is something I am missing a lot but nothing I have started seems to be inspiring me enough to get me making...sleep is way more appealing!
I know I will finish the projects above eventually but I think maybe I need to start something else, something that isn't as monotonous as the endless garter stitch of folded (picture 2 above) and similarly (although much quicker in aran weight yarn) garter stitch Annabel (picture 1). Something a bit quicker than the knitting with sewing cotton (actually beautiful but very thin lace weight yarn) and tiny needles that I was tempted to start and is going nowhere (picture 3 and 4). Even my sampler afghan has been put aside as putting together all the puzzle pieces is taxing my, already pushed to the limits, brain.
I need some suggestions...what is on your needles (or hooks) at the moment? What is complicated enough to keep you interested while not being impossible to pick up and put down when I only have 5 minutes to grab? I'd love some inspiration to get me back in the groove...and I promise to share the results as soon as I'm done!
