Well, would you believe, I am back here already to share that idea that was buzzing around my head. The photos above and title may give you a little clue to what I have in mind but let me explain further...
Woolfest is getting closer and my friend Em and I are all booked up and ready to go, so I decided to take a little peek in my wool drawer, just to refresh my memory...oh my!
The little sample above is a snapshot of some of my newer yarn and a glimpse of what is in a couple of my project bags but doesn't scrape the surface of what I have managed to collect since I started knitting thirty or so years ago...I would be ashamed to show you if I didn't know for a fact that some of my friends (you know who I mean!!!) make my stash look like a drop in the ocean. I have to accept that I do have a bit of a problem (the wool hidden in suitcases and under beds might be a clue to that) but in the interests of going to Woolfest with a clear conscience I am proposing an idea to do something about it...
I would like to start a regular post at the begining of the week with a stash busting theme..."Start the Week Stash Busting"...I will try to write a post each week with either a "made it", "swap it" or "giveaway" heading and I would love it if those of you who have similar stash building habits would join in with me here.
- "Made it" posts would be for projects started, finished or underway.
- "Swap it" posts would show items I am happy to swap.
- "Giveaway" posts would mean a boost to your stash and a streamlining of mine!
I would like to start at the beginning of May and will do my first STWSB post w/c 4th May.(edited to point out that I can't read a calendar and was looking at June! The first weekday in May is of course the 7th - sorry!!!) If any of you would like to join me you can write your "Start the Week Stash Busting" post on your own blog and then leave a link to your post in the comments (or if you don't have a blog why not link to finished projects on Ravelry or Flickr?) Please link back to me within your post so that any addicted readers, you have, can come and join in with the fun! I've given you a couple of weeks to have a look at your stash and to plan your post, I do hope you will come and have fun tackling woolly addiction with me!
