I was so saddened to learn of Elspeth Thompson's tragic death via her blog this week. While I had never met her in person, her books and blog had touched me deeply with their beauty and I had shared that enthusiasm with many of my friends and family.
The excitement I felt when she emailed me earlier this year, after I posted about her Wonderful Weekend book, was boundless. Her kindness and gracious words will always stay with me, a feeling shared with many others across the web. Her ability to create and see wonder in the the most simple and unlikely of places inspired us all and will live on in her writing to offer comfort to others. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all those who knew her well.
